Your Prayer place
Your Prayer place is not for telling God what he doesn't know. It is a place for training in using your tongue, mouth and lip to do what God made it for. Human beings are created to be different from the animals. This difference comes in one principal way: in the use of tongue.
Humans are created to talk. Your mouth and tongue are instruments blessed with divine power.
That is why the Bible says:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21
Animals don't need to pray to receive whatever they need. God provides for them. Human beings without exception that ask receive from God.
There is no special favor in that. You don't wait until you are perfect and holy before you pray. You don't need to be that good before you pray.
Start praying and it is the prayer that would lead you to righteousness:
“Jesus said everyone that asks received. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:8
"That ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust."
Matthew 5:45
In the prayer place you ask. In answering God gives so that you receive.
To pray is to seek. The answer comes when you find. When you pray, you are knocking at God's heavenly door.
Your answer comes when the door opens and you are permitted to receive.
It is only when you pray that you can see God face to face…..
Yes, Jesus is saying, happy are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
I don't know if ever you dream of seeing God. Yet, Jesus says, happy are you when your heart is pure for you shall see God.
The Prayer place is therefore a place of purity. It is a place for purity of purpose and purity of heart. The pure in heart are those who pray in deed.
When your heart is right you will receive answers to your prayer. You are sure you have met with God on His throne of grace.
For you to be right with Him, you need God to search you. You need to repent of secret sins.
You need to forgive all those who offend you. For the prayer place is your altar.
It is a place too high. You cannot reach it unless you are first right with your brothers, neighbors and with God.
How high is your own prayer altar?
Do you go there knowing fully well there are something to settle with your brother?
Why the hurry? The Bible says go first and reconcile with your brother. Matthew 5:23-24
Do you have something against your spouse? The Bible teaches that would hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7
Take good note again that everyone must pray to receive. You need to ask before you get. In human world, without desire you get nothing.
It is desire that makes you ask, seek and knock.
The good and the unjust when they ask, they both receive.
