The Good Life

Certainly, depending on where you turn, there are many answers to what the good life is.

Paul said it is possible to build your life after the tradition and philosophy of men. Colossians 2:8

But this kind of life is like a house build on shaky sand. It could never stand the tests and tribulations.

It is sure to fall when storm and rain come.

Majority of people are following after the multitude. They lack personal guide and are building their life edifice on uncertain shaky sand.

That is why you are advice not to follow the crowd. Exodus 23:2; Psalms 1:1

You are to build the edifice of your life upon a solid rock. This rock is the Bible the Living Word of God.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful..."
Hebrews 4:12

Make therefore the Bible the blueprint for your life's edifice.

Make it your guidebook for whatever action you want to take. None of your actions should violate the principles of the Bible.

In any case be sure of this fact, that how you build your life matters.

The way you build it is very important. 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.

You need to get a good pattern or a model of what you want your life to be like.

Then build it step by step upon this pattern. Learn from:

• Noah who built the ark according to God’s plan. Genesis 6:22

• Moses built the tabernacle according to God’s pattern
Exodus 39:42-43.

• Paul gave the example of worldly athletes. No athlete wins a medal at the Olympic or any games unless he or she completes according to the rules of the particular game. 2 Timothy 2:5

What is the good life?

The chief goal of life is happiness. How, then, can you find happiness?

For this is what the good life is all about. It is about living a joyful life.

However, you cannot be truly happy until you discover your greater purpose in life.

Love God with all your heart:

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind,” Matthew 22:37

Deuteronomy 6:5; Deuteronomy 10:12

Genuine happiness comes when you, first and foremost, love God. God is the Creator. He is also the greatest giver.

Ever good and perfect gift come from Him. James 1:17 He gave you your life. He deserves your greatest love also. Acts 17:28

You first duty is therefore towards God (Acts 5:29) You owe Him complete commitment.

Regardless of what other people around you are doing or saying, you need God in your personal life.

The good life is this that you live to: love God! Love your neigbors!! Matthew 22:35 – 40.

There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:31

For sure, this is the only way to true happiness.
