Renew your Mind
When trouble comes, it is time to renew your mind. Trouble comes because your mind has failed. It has failed so far in many ways to cope with your life situations and challenges.
The first is referred to in the Bible as the natural or carnal mind. This is your thinking mind or your brain. It is the centre of your five senses.
The Bible describes this level of mind in these words:
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but
they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually
minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not
subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."
Romans 8:5-7
For the following reasons, your natural mind with its wisdom cannot cope
with the problems of this perverted world:
1. This mind thinks evil thoughts. Ezekiel 38:10
2. It is vain Jeremiah 4:14
3. It is a
reprobate mind that is not subject to the laws of God.
Romans 1:28
4. It is enemy against God Romans 8:7
It is this mind that needs to be renewed.
To renew means to make new again. It is to renovate. This means to change completely the old for something different and new altogether.
This is also the sense or what it means for you to renew your mind.
To renew your
mind involves three aspects of the old mind:
a) The old mind
itself, as it has nothing good must be laid down and dealt with
drastically.
It must be put into a state of complete inactivity. This will give way to the new mind to function. Then the old must be changed, replaced, and made completely new.
b) Then you have to deal with the content of the old mind. The Bible says it is filled with evil, pervert and corrupt thoughts. They are intruders and enemies of your mind.
It is those thoughts that result from faulty knowledge and reasoning.
Jesus said a man's foes will be those of his household.
It is those enemies of your mind that produce the evil world of today.
Those enemies are fear, worry, doubt, perversion and all forms of bad habits. You must eliminate them from your mind.
Why?
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Unless you get rid of them from your minds there would be no hope, peace or joy in your world.
Those enemies are the satanic building blocks of the world. That also explains why the world is full of perversion, tribulation, trouble and turbulence.
You can overcome those enemies and the world that results from them by renewing your mind.
c) Lastly the way of reasoning of the old mind must change. Yes, you cannot reason like everyone else and expect a different result.
Therefore, to renew your mind means to bring out your old mind. Change its content and its mode of operation. It must be changed, replaced, and made completely new.
That is why your mind needs a time for renovation. It needs a time for you to make it completely new again.
Fill it with new stuff and change its ways of thinking.
Your life is not what you want it to be? Then watch for the cause from your thoughts. Or you find that things are not working for you as expected?
Then examine your mind. What are the stuffs loaded into it? The Bible says you cannot put a new wine in an old bottle. Therefore you would need to change your mind and the thoughts in it.
When you renovate your mind and its content, your entire life would change for the better.
Tips and how to change:
i) You desire a permanent change in an area of your life?
ii) Then put a corresponding thought inside your mind.
iii) Saturate your mind with this particular thought.
iv) Put out every contrary thought. Yes the Bible says you need to forsake your old thoughts.
v) Think only of the things that you desire and never the things that you don't want.
vi) Then for sure follow your thoughts with Action
