Be connected to the 'True Vine'

(John 15:1)

Jesus says, He alone is the true vine. No other vine is the true vine. There are false, deceptive vines around us. But, as long as we are connected to the true vine, we have the assurance from the Lord that our Father, will take good care of us.

(John 15:1-2) The Father is the gardner. He cuts the branches which bear no fruit. He prunes(cleans) the branch which bears fruit so that it will be even more fruitful. We, as christians (followers of Christ), are called to bear good fruit. If, we do not bear good fruit, then we will be cut and thrown away.

The greek word for prunes(purge) is kathairo which means 'to cleanse'. Jesus says in (John 15:3). The Word of God prunes us, cleanses us frm all filthy impurity in our lives. (Psalm 119:9) The greek word for taking heed is 'shamar' which means 'to keep, guard, observe, give heed'. We can cleanse our way by observing and keeping our life according to God's Holy Word.

The 'True Vine' is Jesus Christ. (1Cor 8:5-6) Many so called gods are being worshipped around the world. But, the one true and living God is the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ who created the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them.

We have been grafted through faith in the true vine. We have believed and so, we have been grafted in the vine. The Jews were the people to receive salvation, however, because of their unbelief, they were broken away as branches broken away from the vine, and we the gentiles were grafted (inserted) from a wild shoot to a cultivated stock (Romans 11:17-20).

Therefore, as we live connected to the true vine, let us remain strong in faith, bearing fruit, persevering unto the very end, lest we be found without fruit, broken from the vine, wither away and be cast out in the fire.

Bear fruit being connected to the true vine - our Lord Jesus Christ.
