Jesus spoke about John the Baptist in (John 5:35). Jesus calls us to be burning and shining lamps to this dark world.
Be a Shining light and a shining light to this world!!
How do we become a bright and shining light?
(Psalm 119:105) Here, the Psalmist says, that God's holy Word is a lamp unto his feet and a light unto his path. We see the world in darkness. All around us is darkness. No hope. Misery and calamities. Sin and consequences of sin. Bondage and suffering. Our lives are in darkness. Though we live in the light of day, there is spiritual darkness and blindness among the people, even God's children. Are we children of the light? Do we posses the light of God?
Only the Word of the Living God can set us free from all darkness. This includes all the works of the flesh according to (Gal 5:19-21).
Jesus is the Word of the Living God. Jesus wants us to be children of the Light. He wants us to be carriers of the same light and glory, which He had in Him, when He walked this earth. (John 8:12) He is the Light of the world. We have a choice to make, whether to follow the Light or not. He makes it clear, that those who follow Him shall walk in darkness. (John 12:36) He calls us to be children of the light."
How do we become children of the light?
This is by believing in the light, believing in Jesus Christ. (1John 1:7) The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin and makes us God's children.
How do we know that a person walks in the light?
We show we walk in the light of God, when we have fellowship with one another, love one another, forgive one another and when we accept the atonement of Jesus our Savior, and believe His blood cleanses us from all sin. When we walk in His divine presence, like Adam, before He sinned and like all His apostles and saints. When we claim this promise, believe it and confess it, this shows we walk in the light.
(Luke 11: 34-36) Jesus said, that the eye is the lamp of the body, and if the eye is good, then our entire body is full of light. When the eye is bad or corrupted with filthy and corrupt things, our body is full of darkness. In the same manner, our physical senses work to bring light and darkness in our body. Our sense of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste are the gateways for darkness to enter us. Our tongue plays a major part for darkness and fear to enter us. Keep a check on your senses and your words by the Word of God daily. Clean yourself daily with God’s Holy Word.
(John 15:3) Jesus says that we can keep ourself clean by renewing our mind by meditating on God’s Word daily.
When the Light comes, darkness has to flee. When the Holy Spirit and His Word come in you, all darkness will flee and you will be a bright and shining light to this world. Amen.
[Prayer]: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word, which is a lamp unto my feet. It protects my ways and decisions. Your Word gives me direction. It throws light on my path of life. Your Word enlightens my mind and renews it. I have understanding through your holy Word. I am clean when I confess and meditate on your divine Word. I am a bright and shining light according to your word and I am full of light. I praise and thank you Father, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
