A New Mind

There are two basic steps given in the Bible for you to get a brand new mind.

• You need to forsake the old: 

  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

  Isaiah 55:7
   

   

• To get a new mind, you need to find a model. The Bible suggests you make Jesus Christ your model:

   Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

  Philippians 2:5

  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16

  To have a new mind is to have the mind of Christ. It is to think like Him.

 Thinking like Christ will affect your actions. It will make your habits, character and way of life to conform to Christ.

This is how you could be what God wants you to be - the light of the world. Being the light of the world means you are responsible. You are to be the societys pacesetter.

You are to show the world how to live and not the other way round.

Jesus also said you are the salt of the earth. Without you the world will be without taste. That implies no joy, no peace and no hope.

That is why you cannot get worried, fearful, sorrowful and depressed like everyone around you. Rather, God wants you to be peoples source of joy, leader, and their guide.

Therefore you need to Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48.

This is what will make you live as a model for others to follow. You are supposed to influence others to do good. You are not to follow them to the pit of hell by doing evil.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.
Exodus 23:2

Your old mind is always conforming to the world. It loves and desires to dwell on the things of the world.

But with a renewed mind you can make it your habit never to conform to the world or to live according to the standard of the world.

You must rather be imitator of God. This means to be complete. Set your mind and affections on Christ. That is what makes you complete in Him. Colossians 2: 10

It is only a renewed mind and a changed heart that would make you complete wanting nothing.
